Making Core Easier

Some of you may know this and others may not. But, I'm going to share something I just discovered last week. If you have access to E-Tools, go into the planner. From there you click on the find and explore tab on the left and it takes you to a screen with a search box. In the search box you can type in ANY food and of course you know if it's listed in the WW database, then it will bring up all the results listed and the points values. Here's where it gets even better if you're doing the Core plan (actually this would work for Flex as well) on the left there are some tabs that say food, restuarants, recipes. If you click on the Recipes tab it opens and expanded list for you. Then there's a box that you can check that says Core plan only. Then it gives you the results that fall under the Core plan. For example, I typed in "chicken" pretty broad and generic I know. When I went under the Recipes tab and checked the Core box it gave me 109 Core recipes that used chicken!! I then tried Progresso. It brought up all the soups that are listed under Progresso then I checked the Core box and Voila! it gave me all the Progresso soups that are Core! Pretty neat huh?

I've also had people ask me "What do you eat on Core? Nothing?" So, I've decided to list my menu from Monday to give others some insight.

Monday:
Breakfast:
Coffee with Splenda and 1/4 C FF half and half (counted 1 point)
Didn't have breakfast because mornings are not good at my house.

Lunch:
Leftover Spaghetti made with Ronzoni noodles and 96/4 ground beef
Peas
Pear

Dinner:
Baked Chicken
Brown Rice with a little Reduced sodium soy sauce
Steamed Veggies
Green Beans

Snacks:
1/2 C plain, fat-free yogurt with splenda and vanilla with
1/2 C grapes and
1/2 C sliced strawberries (this was after work)
then after dinner I had an entire bag of 94% fat free popcorn with 2 t. EVOO and some kernel seasonings sprinkled on top
None of this had to measured, I only know the amount of grapes and strawberries because I happened to use the 1/2 cup to take them out of the bowl I had them in. The only points were used were for the 1/2 &1/2.

Not bad right? If I had wanted something none Core, no big deal, I could eat it and just figure my points for whatever it was.

Well, back to work! HOpe to hear from ya'll soon!
